Mandatory Addons & Mods

Required for all raiders. Close WoW before installing. Find your OctoWoW folder (usually C:\OctoWoW).

Windows Security Warning
When downloading the installer, your browser may warn you. Click "Keep" or "Download anyway". When running the .exe, Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Click "More info" then "Run anyway". This is normal for unsigned software and is safe.

Easy Install: Download All Addons

Everything in one download, built fresh whenever an addon changes. Pick the installer or the plain zip.

Installer (.exe): Unzip and run HydraGuildAddons.exe -- it finds your OctoWoW folder (or lets you browse to it) and installs everything. Has a "Check for Updates" button to keep addons current.
Addon pack (.zip): Download the zip, extract it, then copy each folder to the right place:AddOns/ folder contents go into your OctoWoW/Interface/AddOns/,Data/ contents into OctoWoW/Data/, and SuperWoWhook.dll into your OctoWoW/ root folder.

Install Steps

  1. Click the Download button above to get patch-O.mpq (about 43 MB)
  2. Place it in your game's Data folder (C:\OctoWoW\Data\) as Patch-O.mpq
  3. Do NOT use the GitHub release or the launcher's Raid Visuals toggle. Those builds crash the current OctoWoW client with Error 132 shortly after you log in
  4. This is the guild's rebuild of the same visuals against the current client data. If you already have a Patch-O.mpq from anywhere else, replace it with this one
  5. Restart the game. AOE circles and boss spell effects appear in raids

Latest: Rebuilt the raid visuals onto the current OctoWoW client data. Every public build (the GitHub release and the launcher's Raid Visuals toggle) crashes the client with Error 132 shortly after login. Install this file as Data\Patch-O.mpq and replace any other Patch-O you have.

  2. Close the game completely
  3. Open the zip. It contains one folder named HydraCaptions
  4. Copy that HydraCaptions folder into C:\OctoWoW\Interface\AddOns\
  5. You should see: AddOns\HydraCaptions\HydraCaptions.toc
  6. Start the game again. A new addon folder is only picked up when the game starts, so /reload is not enough
  7. On the character select screen, click AddOns and tick HydraCaptions
  8. Log in. The addon joins the Captions chat channel by itself and tells you when captions are live

How to Use

  • A bot listens in the Discord Raid voice channel and turns speech into text. Each line shows the speaker's name and what they said, about 2 to 4 seconds after they say it
  • The caption panel appears by itself. Drag it to move it. Drag the grip in the bottom right corner to resize it
  • Buttons along the bottom of the panel: A- and A+ change the text size, _ collapses the panel down to that row of buttons, x hides it (type /captions show to bring it back)
  • Name alert: when someone says your character name, the caption panel blinks gold and the line turns gold. Nothing is drawn over the rest of your screen
  • /captions alert test shows a sample alert
  • /captions alert add <nickname> also alerts you on a nickname people call you
  • /captions help lists every command

pfQuest for Moonwhisper Coast

pfQuest plus the Turtle data pack and the quests, NPCs, objects and item sources the guild has recorded in the zone. It rebuilds itself whenever someone uploads new captures.

Troubleshooting

No Git? On each GitHub page, click "Code" then "Download ZIP". Extract and rename the folder (remove -main suffix).
Can't find OctoWoW? Common paths: C:\OctoWoW, C:\Games\OctoWoW. Look for WoW.exe and the Data/ folder.
Addons not showing in-game? Check that the .toc file is directly inside the addon folder (e.g., AddOns/BigWigs/BigWigs.toc, NOT AddOns/BigWigs-main/BigWigs/BigWigs.toc). Enable addons on the character select screen.
